Fort Lewis, DVD Signing and Twilight Screening. Washington

    BY: Sheyann

He was so nice to everyone! He talked to them, talked to their friends on the phone, accepted gifts, and signed everything everyone gave him. He didn't mind signing a bunch of stuff, it was so cool! Even waiting in line was fun. I met four new friends while I was there. When he took his breaks, he would talk to people that were standing from a distance watching him! My sister and a few of my friends were some of the lucky ones he talked to during his break. He was so nice to everyone!! And on top of it all, he was so cute!! I think they should have kept his hair black in the movie! He also smelled really good. :D It was definitley a positive experience and would meet him again if he came to Washington State!!!! I show off my DVD all the time, and he even personalizes them! He drew a vampire smilie on my DVD and he put "Nice Twilightphone!" Or "Love your Twilightphone!" on people's cell phones!

    To Peter:

Sheyann would like to know if it was akward biting Edward (Pattinson) to "turn" him into a vampire in the movie?

On Saturday March 21 2009, My son and i went to go to an DVD sign by Peter Facinelli. We Arrived there ( at Fort Lewis PX ) AT about 9:20 am thinking that we would be early for the signing . We weren't the only ones to also thought that .

After arriving we got into the live and waiting about maybe 30 minutes before Peter actually arrived. When he arrived , You would of thought that the president him self had made an appearance. Men , Women , kid of all ages were screaming ,chanting his name ( my son whom is 4 also was yelling at the top of his lungs "momma Look , It's the Doctor. It's Edward's daddy!") . He took his time to get in and waved and greeted the crowd by saying hello ( But then hurried inside ,That Morning Washington Weather was in full affect . Fog ,rain ,cold the works.)

We along with Hundred of others waiting from 9 am until about 2 before we were even able to make it inside. When we arrived through the main door inside the PX and finally got to get through the line and up front to meet him, he signed two DVD for me and my sister-in -law whom is in new york and is addicted to the movie and also the books ( it was a surprise for her , she didn't know what i was up to that day),also One for my husband. My son was afraid at first but then jumped right into the picture with us and Peter was so nice . He talked to my son, asked him if he could sign his forehead . My son's reaction to that was "NO, you no sign my head" and then told him that he got to get ice cream after he leaves for being a good boy. Peter laughed and was just so nice. He thanked us for staying, waiting in the crazy hectic line.

That day he stayed from about 9 am signing DVDs, books, Posters and such. He only got 2 ,15 minute breaks during the long day he had. I don't know the exact time he left but he stayed for about 5,000 people according to The Northwest Guardian ( Fort Lewis newspaper).

My son still talks about meeting "Dr.Cullen" to this day and asks me when can we see him again. My husband whom was deployed about 3 weeks before to Iraq, was ecstatic to know that he was here but also was sadden at the fact that he wasn't here for the event to. Thank him for his time to come to our base. He loves the pictures that I sent him and Loves his new signed DVD that has already been sent to him.

Many people that I have talked to have just NOTHING but good to say about Peter. They all love the fact that he came here and thanked them ( The soldier's ) for fighting for our country even though the tuff times away from the Families. The day was just even more perfect when he talked to my son and joked around with my son as if he knew him for awhile. Calling him Buddy, messing with his hair and just chatting. I know it will be something for him to talk about even when he gets older ( if he remembers ) or for me to tell him all about him meeting Peter and showing him the pictures that I had taken.

I just loved the fact that he was just so down to earth and he also could have said "no more I want to leave " but he didn't that really touched our hearts that he spent time with us on our lil base we call Home.

    Mr Facinelli,

I was at the DVD signing you did at Ft Lewis on March 21 for my daughter Emily. You asked if I was in the service but I did not hear you well and then you asked if I was in the army. And then you thanked me. I believe I looked dumb founded and I wanted to explain. I have been in the army active/reserves for 24 years now and have never received a thankyou from anyone until 9/11. It is very appreciated it just catches me off guard still because I just dont expect it because we do not do what we do for the thank you's. But again, It was appreciated.

You were not at all I expected. You were scheduled for signing from 1200-2pm and you arrived around 0930 and stayed for about 12 hours or so. I have never met another movie star but from what I have heard and or read, I dont believe to many stars would that and for that, I thank you!!

I am currently a reservist on active duty at Ft Lewis and my family is back in Pennsylvania. My daughter has read all the books so far, twice, and loved the film.

I must say peter is the most amazing person I have ever met He for sure knows that his fans are his number one supporters and the only reason he is where he is. His wild weekend here at good old Fort Lewis started out with a day full of fun. He visited a school and even went to a shooting range and got to shoort an m-16. ( sent pictures to Chelle, they are in the gallery) He was even humble enough to eat lunch at the mess hall with the soldiers.

He was also awarded a coin from the general of our military base. All while he had a smile on his face the whole time. Then that night he was scheduled for a meet and greet/ Q and A session that was suppose to last 30 minutes followed by a free screening of Twilight for Military families here at Fort Lewis, WA. The Q and A session quickly turned into a frenzy of meet and greets and hugs and lasted almost 2 hours. Peter had a smile the entire time. I was working the front row area trying to keep everyone in their seat.

My god daughter ashley was with me( the perks of my job:) she gets to meet the celebrities I work events for.) Girls were pushing and pulling and we were making sure no one was in the aisle and Ashley stood with her hand up and waited to ask her question. Peter made his way to her and not only did he talk to her he called her by name up front and took a picture with her and signed her undershirt. under her twilight shirt. She got a quick hug and then it was time for the movie so we got peter out back stage and then the national anthem came on and when everyone thought he was gone he came on stage and did the national anthem( they play that before all movies on our base.) Then he was gone.

He was scheduled to be at out PX shopping center the next morning I beleive at 11. the twilight DVD was released that day and when we went to purchase ours the line was already about 50 deep. that was at 7 am. we got our dvds and planned to come back. when we came back the line was all the way around the building and we learned that he decided to start at 930am due to the huge line. He was only scheduled to autograph for 2 hours.

Well we got in line and lets just say 7 hours later we finally got to peter. There he was still smiling and signing everything anyone wanted signed and taking pictures with EVERYONE who asked. My general manage told me that Peter changed his flight because he wanted to meet everyone who wanted to meet him. Like I said he is simply incredible. Well when we got up there He knew who we were by name! Ashley had the picture from the night before and he looked at it and said Ashley right. Wow did her face light up. He also signed her phone The twilight phone and then his name it was just so personal.

Then he got up gave me a huge hug and said, "your so sweet!" We got our pictures and said good buy to him. It was a day we will never forget. While I was inline and could hear Pete talking to every soldier that came through telling them how much he appreciated them and told them Thank you.

He also said to one soldier.....What I do is nothing. What you do is amazing. In the end his 2 hour autograph session turned into a 16 hour autograph marathon and he smiled through the whole thing.

Peter is definatly such a special person. And i look forward to meeting him again soon! He hold a special place in everyones hearts he met that day. At the end of the day he finally was finished at roughly 2am and his meet and greet made history at Fort Lewis. He signed a poster that hangs in the back of our store in the office its a twilight poster and he signed it.... "16 hours, No man left behind." - Peter Facinelli

I hope you send this to peter and let him know how amazing he is. And how much meeting him meant to my goddaughter.
