My question to Mr. Facinelli is; if you could change anything about Carlisle or any of the Twilight characters, what would you change about them and why?

I love Carlisle Cullen, but if I had to change one thing I think I might give him a special power like Edward has, reading minds, or Alice, reading the future. I would keep Carlisle's compassion, but it would be fun to have a little extra something when facing the Volturi. You can't really smite someone with compassion. Lol.

It is obvious that Carlisle Cullen has lived through quite a few of Historical events. This year, America saw yet another event with the Election of Barack Obama. My question is if you could go back to any moment In history and see it first-hand, which event would you choose and why?

If you could meet one historical figure, who would you choose?

    Thank you for your time!
    Sincerely,
    Danielle Mueller

I have a Lincoln fascination. I would love to have been there for the Gettysburg Address. I think he was such an interesting man, as well as courageous and ahead of his time. Perhaps Carlisle should've been there to help stop his assassination.

My question for you is: The Twilight vampires are quite different to the stereotypical vampires who have fangs and sleep in coffins, So if you were offered a role for another vampire movie, fangs and all, would you take it and why?

    Take Care,
    Thalia M,

No. As a matter of fact, when I first heard of this project I was not interested in it, because my mind automatically went to fangs, gore, and zombies, which, as an actor I'm just not interested in doing. But when I read the books and saw that it was an anti vampire tale in that it dealt more with vampires trying to be human, and steered away from stereotypes I became intrigued and as I read more, obsessed.

If you could live on one item of food for the rest of your life what would it be? AND do you listen to the Beatles? If so, what was your favorite album and song :)

Love Felicity, 16 from Brisbane, Australia.

Abbey Road. Love the Beetles. I can listen to every song and each would be my favorite as I was listening. And Pizza. I was just in NY shooting a TV show called Nurse Jackie and I think I lived on Pizza the whole 3 months.

When you are at home with family, do you ever do the cooking and what is your all time favorite food?

Michelle Smith, 28, Perth, Western Australia

I like to cook when company comes over. I like having an audience. My mom is a great cook so I have a lot of her recipes. But my favorite dish to cook is French Chicken Cutlets and risotto.

Hey, Whats been your biggest challenge in your career?

You are such a great actor - big influence!

    Mila - Female - New Zealand - 14 !!

My biggest challenge is proving that I can play the part. So auditioning. For me creating a role is a process. Auditioning always feels like a sketch of a painting so it's not always fully there. Because I tend to play very different roles each time, I'm always required to prove I can play that role before I take it on. Some actors play the same parts over and over, and in a way that's easier, because when a role comes up like one they've played, producers say, "Get me that guy". He's done this role 100 times. But I strive not to play the same characters twice. When people ask what kind of roles I want to play, I always say, "Anything I haven't done before". So in taking on roles that are different then me, and different then roles I've played, it becomes a challenge to constantly prove I can play the role. I remember people getting upset when they found out that "Mike Dexter" from CANT HARDLY WAIT was going to be Carlisle. But the character of Mike Dexter is worlds apart from the Character of Carlisle.

I believe that many experiences lead us to develop ourselves and alter who we are. As an actor, you have a unique opportunity to see life from varied perspectives and live Vicariously for a short while through your characters.

Do any characters stand out as far as changing your perspective on your own life? Any Epiphanies or life-changing moments through your characters played? And just because I have a thing for vampires: did you have any sort of existential moment (immortality, after all, is a bit of a mind job)?

I'm hoping all this counts as one question, since they are all related. Thank you for answering fans' questions. :)

    Tammy

Great Question. Where do I begin? One of the draws of being an actor for me is that I get to live many lifetimes in one life. I've played countless people, and occupations, from a blind mountain climber to undercover policeman, to a doctor, to a vampire. I can tell you this is definitely what draws me to being an actor. Being able to step inside someone else's life and for a short time explore that person's emotions. In as much I learn from my characters, I also feel I bring knowledge to them as well. Perhaps it is one big identity crisis and I search for my true self within the people I play. Whichever the case, they always affect me as a person as well as an actor, and many times the emotions I am required to bring to a role, run parallel to things going on in my own life, which sometimes become therapeutic.

    Peter~
First, thank you so much for keeping us all entertained. I thoroughly enjoy watching your portrayals. In my opinion, you are a FANTASTIC actor. You did an especially wonderful job as Carlisle Cullen. Somehow you were able to show your character as caring and personal and still made him HOT and SEXY! : ) It's all in the smile.

    My question:
Out of all the different characters you've played over the years.....if you could only choose one to be known for which would it be??? If you don't mind elaborating.....Why would you choose THAT ONE???

Thanks so much and God Bless!

Wow. That's a tough one. The characters I've played are so different from me that I'm not sure. Right now I am enjoying the connection between Carlisle and myself. Carlisle is a rock. He's the foundation of the family. He exudes compassion. All great qualities to be known for. So for the time being, I'll have to go with him.

    Peter.
I am a very big fan of the whole Twilight series, and I just wanted to tell you that you were amazing in Twilight. Of course, you've actually got a very fascinating conversation with Bella coming up here in new Moon, so how do you think this will shape your character, being that this is your first time being one on one with her.

    Sincerely.
    Abby

It's a very powerful scene, and I think an important conversation. It informs Bella why Edward is having such a difficult time with the notion of her changing into a vampire. It raises the stakes for the entire story when she understands that it is because he loves her so much, and doesn't want to see her soul destroyed. As far as Carlisle, I would like to hope the audience leaves that scene seeing more of who he is. A compassionate man, who has dedicated his life to helping humans, and fighting the monster within, to retain his humanness, because of his deep-rooted love for humanity.

    Here's my question:

If you could reprise one character you have played from TV or movie who would it be and why?

    Thanks
    Tania McMullin

Besides Carlisle? I would have to say the character of Van Ray from a TV series I did called FASTLANE. Working on that was like getting to play cops and robbers all day long. I loved that it had action, comedy, and drama, all in one show. I miss working with the awesome Bill Bellamy. And I got to drive some pretty sweet cars. If you've never seen it, I recommend picking up the DVD. But don't look for Carlisle in it. He won't be there. Not even a bit.

    My questions are:
What recommendation would you have for someone that's wanting to get into the acting industry, but also has a family? How do you find the balance to be a full time actor with being a full time, fully involved parent?

Once again, thank you for taking the time to at least read this.

    Sincerely,
    Rebecca Weathers

I can't say it's easy. But balancing any job and having a family is never easy. The difference between my job and others is that most people work 9-5, 5 days a week. They come home, have dinner, and put their kids to bed. They spend most of their quality time with their family on the weekends. My job allows me to have concentrated periods of time off, where I can be with my kids 24/7 and then other periods where I'm completely gone 24/7. So it's a trade off. But I try not to go more than 10 days without seeing them. We use Skype to see each other while I'm away. And when I am at home I try to be very involved in their lives, from school to after school activities to sports to piano recitals. We also love to take road trips, and we love family vacations.

As far as recommendations. I'm not sure I have one. Everyone's path is different. So the path I took may be different then yours. But I am a firm believer that you have one life, so you should make it what you want to be, or at least go down trying. Good luck..
